John “Jack” Minella, 90, of Kingsford, MI passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born December 9th, 1928 in Iron Mountain, MI, son of the late John and Eva (Polkinghorne) Minella. He was raised and educated in Iron Mountain.

As a young lad he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served honorably. Upon returning to the area, he was hired by the Kingsford Motor Car Company where he attained his Master Certificate for auto body repair. He owned and operated Jack’s Body Shop for a decade before being taken on board by Wittock Supply Company, succeeding with inside sales for the next two decades, retiring at age 61.

Outside of his endless love for his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, traveling, motor-homing, and snow-birding with his wife, Marlene to Apache Junction, AZ. He leaves his loving wife of 50 years, Marlene, who was his constant companion; his four children Debra Musgrove (Dan Wickman), Jon Minella (Joy Meyers), the twins, Diane Hulbert and Donna (Frank) Rahoi; grandchildren, Carolee Clarke, Scott (Tanya) Popp, Dr. Nelson C. Hulbert, Marla (David) Fletcher, Logan (Melissa) Watts, Dr. Mitchell (Megan) Hulbert, and Hamilton (Tori) Watts; great-grandchildren Jaimie Billodeau, Justin Rock, Averie and Ian Popp, Caiden and Madden Fletcher, and Maci Marlene Watts; great-great-grandchildren Carter and Kiarha Billodeau and many nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved son, Randall Macy Peterson, his sisters, Gerry and Sis Reiten, brothers-in-law, Jess Reiten and Bob (Pat) Cerasoli and his first wife, Carole.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 18, 2019 at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
