Margaret Plenus, 78, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Friday, May 4, 2018. She was born June 21, 1939, in Hammond, Indiana to Max and Adeline (Jezuit) Mikulski. On July 11, 1959, Margaret Mikulski married James Plenus who preceded her in death on August 29, 2015.

Margaret leaves behind a daughter, Kathleen (James) Mentz of Granger, Indiana; two sons, David (Debbie) Plenus of Crown Point, Indiana and Mark (Kathy) Plenus of Schererville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Stefan (Emily) Plenus, Jennifer (Justin) Zambrano, Megan (Dan) Quakenbush, Kevin & Erin Plenus; a great grandchild Sophie Plenus; and a sister-in-law, Carol Mikulski of Minden, Nevada. A brother, Richard Mikulski preceded him in death. Margaret was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in La Porte and the quilting club.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana, where a memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor, Dennis Meyer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
