Obituary for Margaret “Mudge” Seibel Margaret “Mudge” Seibel, age 92, died on Monday, April 16, 2018 at St. Francis Nursing Home in Fond du Lac. Mudge was born to George and Margaret Rodgers Gray on November 25, 1925. She grew up in Wisconsin Dells surrounded by her 3 brothers, one sister, loving parents, aunts and uncles and great grandmother.

Mudge graduated from Wisconsin State Teachers College, Milwaukee, WI and soon began her lengthy teaching career in Fond du Lac. Mudge met and married Arthur Wells Seibel and shared the joys of raising five children. The entire family was active in the Division Street Methodist Church, Fond du Lac YMCA, Boy Scouting/Girl Scouting and FDL Schools sports and music programs.

During extended family vacations, annual Thanksgiving feasts with all the cousins (including Mudge’s creative games and talent shows), special birthday and holiday celebrations Mudge’s creativity and love for family was always present. Bridge playing fostered many lifelong friendships, and Mudge’s avid sewing talents produced everything from piano bench covers to granddaughter Christmas frocks, quilted goods, Raggedy Ann dolls, Teddy Bears and Covenant Cats. Mudge’s career as a first grade teacher in FDL public schools spanned over twenty five years.

Pier School teacher, Mrs. Seibel taught many, many first graders to READ! Mudge is survived by her five children: Art (Jane) Seibel of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Jane Seibel of Winter Springs, FL, Tom Seibel of Fond du Lac, Nancy Seibel of Budapest, Hungary and Barb Kyle of San Diego, CA. Her grandchildren: Susan, Meg (Cody), Katie, Carrie, Kelsey, Great Granddaughter Raya and Christian and Lauren Boughter, Nancy’s step-grandchildren.

Mudge is also survived by her sister, Jane Gray and many nieces and nephews. Mudge’s family extends special thanks to the devoted and caring staff of St Francis Terrace and St Francis Nursing Home. MEMORIAL SERVICE: To be held at St Francis Nursing Home Chapel, 33 Everett Street, Fond du Lac at 2:30pm Friday, April 20, 2018.

Visitation with family begins at 1:30pm.
