Obituary for Maria Rubbo Maria Rubbo, 69 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born Sunday, February 13, 1949 in the Bronx, New York, Maria was the daughter of the late Jerry and Josephine Cestaro. Growing up in the Bronx, Maria would graduate from St. Raymond’s High School.

Maria would meet the love of her life, John Rubbo, and the two would marry. They would raise their family in Old Bridge, where they would reside for more than 40 years. Maria worked as a Real Estate Agent, she worked at Weichert, and eventually would retire from Coldwell Banker in Aberdeen.

She enjoyed spending time reading, as well as knitting, needle point, ceramics, macrame, quilting, and cross-stitch. Maria was a parishioner of the Most Holy Redeemer Church. What Maria loved the most was spending time with her family, she leaves them with love, endless memories, and a strong will and determination to Never Give Up no matter the climb.

She will be missed by all those that were blessed to have had her be a part of their lives. Maria was predeceased by her beloved son Christopher, who passed away in 1991. Maria is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, John Thomas Rubbo, by her loving daughter Jennifer Penley and her husband Henry, by her loving grandchildren, Zachary, and Jacob, by her loving sister Joanne McLaughlin, and by many loving nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday at Most Holy Redeemer Church located at 133 Amboy Road Matawan, New Jersey 07747. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Burial Park Cemetery, East Brunswick, NJ. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
