Dawson, 95, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Marie resided in Medford since 1958. She was a volunteer for over 35 years at Virtua Memorial Hospital, and was involved with the crisis hotline C.O.N.T.A.C.T.

Marie was a parishioner at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, and enjoyed knitting and needlepoint. Wife of the late Joseph H. Dawson, who was a Pearl Harbor survivor, which led them to have many homes in places around the world; she is survived by her five children, Alice Dawson, Joseph Dawson (Kathryn), Kathleen Barolin, Thomas Dawson (Florence Ann), and Theresa Costello (Edward); her sister Thomasine Sherrier (William); ten grandchildren, Marialice, Regan, Irene, Patrick, Laura, Elizabeth, Ryan, Shannon, Matthew and Daniel; six great grandchildren, Lauren, Colin, Madison, Michael, Connor and Kellam; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 10-11AM, at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, 40 Jackson Rd.

, Medford, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM, at the church. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery at Historic Medford Village.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Mathis Funeral Home, Medford, NJ.
