Marilyn M. “Tootie” (Hoch) Bowser, 88, of Gilpin Twp. (Leechburg), PA, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018. A daughter of the late David Hoch and Twilla Mae (Eshbaugh) Hoch, she was born August 14, 1929 in Timblin (Jefferson County), PA.

Marilyn was member of the First Baptist Church in Leechburg and the Gilpin Twp. Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, watching TV and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three sons, William D. Bowser (Candace) of Lambertville, MI, James T. Bowser (Denise) of Gilpin Twp. , PA, and George A. Bowser (Sandy) of Bethel Twp. , PA; a daughter, Carol Alter (Dave) of New Kensington, PA; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Robert Hoch (Peg) of Apollo, PA; two sisters, Donna Whittingham of Richmond, VA, and Sherry McKee of Phoenix, AZ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bert “Bill” W. Bowser on February 21, 2006; two brothers, Theodore Hoch and David Hoch Jr.; two sisters, Phyllis McEwen and Carolyn Quillian. Private visitation and funeral ceremonies were held at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051). Interment was held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.
