Christina A. Leporati, 89, of Gilpin Twp. , PA, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Kittanning Care Center. A daughter of the late Remigio Leporati and Margaret (Caveglia) Leporati, she was born April 23, 1929 in West Leechburg, PA.

Christina was a 1947 graduate of Leechburg High School where she was the first female drummer in the high school band. She had been employed by Babcock & Wilcox in Apollo and as a manager at the Leechburg Catholic Center before retirement. She was a former member of the former St. Catherine Church in Leechburg and current member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Twp.

as well as the Marconi Club Ladies Auxiliary in Leechburg. She was the drummer in a three girl polka band at one time. Christina enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, doing yard work and listening to polkas.

Survivors include two sisters, Marie Gallo and Angeline Mago, both of Gilpin Twp. , PA; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Leporati.

There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051).
