Marilyn Roberta Olson, 83, of Edgerton, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at her home, the Olson family farm since 1918. Marilyn was born on April 9, 1935 in Janesville, WI to the late Frank and Pearl (Guernsey) Jones. She graduated from Milton Union High School in 1953 and married Ronald Wayne Olson on April 10, 1954 at Central Lutheran Church, Edgerton.

After Ronnie’s death in 1986 she continued developing and expanding all operations with the help of Tim Krausse, who eventually became her business partner. Over the years she earned respect and admiration as a farmer and business owner in a man’s world.

She was a longtime member of Central Lutheran Church and the church choir, distinguishing herself as a soloist for weddings, funerals and church services. She was involved with Ladies Circle, Women’s Federation, Hospital Auxiliary, mission trips to El Salvador, and Meals on Wheels. She loved playing cards, dancing, reading, knitting, mowing the lawn, keeping the farm looking picture perfect, and going “up north” to her cottage on Lake Butternut .

She traveled the world (six continents) with family and friends. Marilyn is survived by her children: Debra (Mike) Genett , Diane (Gene) Casey, Dawn Olson Klein, Julie (Bing) Olson; grandchildren: James (Barbara) McGovern IV, Emelia Mason, Joseph Klein, Jacob Klein, Aubrey Mason, Judah (Candice) Klein, Hannah (Angel)Klein Chiclana, Isaac Klein, Grace Klein; great-grandchildren: William McGovern V and Garion McGovern. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Ronald Wayne Olson; brother: Frank Lowell “Buzz” Jones; and cherished companion, Gordon Drake.

She was loved as the sister they never had and survived by her brothers-in-law, C.E. Olson Jr. (Arielle),Richard L. Olson (Marcia), Jack F. Olson (Virginia) and Thomas M. Olson (Nadia). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Central Lutheran Church, Edgerton with Pastor Erik Jelinek officiating. Burial will follow at Jensen Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Edgerton from 4 PM to 7 PM and from 10 a.m. until the start of the services on Saturday at the church.
