Marjorie Fern Bearden, 93, of Anderson, passed away on March 11, 2019 at Cedar Village in Salem, Oregon. She was born on March 7, 1926 in Hillsboro, Indiana and resided most of her life in Anderson, moving to Oregon two years ago to be near family. She graduated from Hillsboro High School Marjorie received her Bachelor's and Masters' Degrees from Ball State University.

She retired as a First Grade Teacher after teaching for 24 years for Anderson Community Schools, many years spent at Shadeland and Greenbriar Elementary Schools. She was a voracious reader and shared books with most of her friends and family. She was an extraordinarily positive person, bringing encouragement and affirmation to so many people!

She was a member Anderson First Church of the Nazarene for 65 years, where her talent and love of music allowed her to sing alto for 60 years, both in Trios and Duets as well as in the choir. She also loved traveling and camping with family. Marjorie is survived by her son, Stephen (Susan) Bearden; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bearden; grandchildren, Jeremy Bearden, Noel (Eric) Whetsel, Heather (Brandon) Kahler, April (Scott) Sandvig; great-grandchildren, Ainsley Kahler, Adelaide Kahler, Elizabeth Whetsel, Ocean Sandvig, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion R. and Ruby Cooper; husband, Buel Devoin Bearden (Dee); son, David D. Bearden; siblings, Mary Pitts, Anne Canen, Dale Cooper, Donald Roy Cooper, Charles Cooper, Floyd Preston Cooper and Bill Cooper. Visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 from 4:00pm -8:00pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013. Services will be 1:00pm Saturday, March 16 at Anderson First Nazarene Church, 2300 Jackson Street, Anderson, IN 46016 with Rev.

Lindell Browning officiating. Burial will take place in the East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. Memorial contributions may be made to Anderson First Church of the Nazarene.
