Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Marjorie Wiseman Thornley, left this earth Thursday, October 18, 2018. She lived a long and fulfilling 102 years and leaves a legacy of beauty and grace. She passed away peacefully of natural causes.

Marge was born May 3, 1916 to David and Martha Jane Garrett Wiseman in Bountiful, Utah. She was the fourth of eight children. She graduated from Davis High School in 1934 and attended LDS Business College.

She married her sweetheart Gordon Roberts Thornley on November 29, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 68 happy years together. They built their home in Clearfield and she has lived there for 72 years.

Gordon passed away in November 2005. Mom loved her flower garden, she and dad enjoyed their beautiful yard for which they received many awards. She worked at HAFB in the Administration Division, and retired after 18 years of service.

She enjoyed china painting and has gifted her family with many of her lovely china plates. Mom and dad enjoyed many winters together in Arizona and St. George. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mom loved life, she was always happy and saw the beauty in everything and made everything around her beautiful. Her family meant everything to her. Mom is survived by her two daughters, Connie (Chuck) Collins, Palm Desert, CA; Patricia (Val) Cook, Syracuse, UT; seven grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, sisters, Florence Lawson and Jean Hartvigsen.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, three brothers and two sisters, Rulon, Lona Stevens, Glenn, Clyde, and Loraine Barber. Our family would like to express appreciation to the caregivers at Rain Tree Senior Living for their kind and loving care of our mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Clearfield 4th Ward, 838 E. 600 So.

, Clearfield. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
