Mr. Robert Markham “Mark” Cavaleri, 52, of Chesapeake, VA, formerly of Onancock, VA, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at Chesapeake Regional Hospital. Mark was born December 2, 1965 in Jacksonville, FL, to Nadya Crosley Cavaleri of Chesapeake, and the late Robert Markham Cavaleri. Despite the many obstacles Mark faced throughout his life, he was always looking for ways to help others in need – often under the radar, and without recognition.

Over the years, Mark mentored countless people recovering from drug addiction. He considered it his calling to minister to people during their darkest hour, consistently providing the support needed to overcome their dependence. Mark’s beautiful heart and kind soul will forever be cherished by the many people whose lives were touched by his love and laughter, especially by those whose lives were better because of his selflessness.

In addition to his devoted and loving mother, he is survived by his son, Matthew Markham Cavaleri, who was his world; his brother, Kenneth Wayne Cavaleri and his wife Lelia, and their children, all of Fruitland, MD; his aunts, Mary Catherine Crosley of Virginia Beach, VA, and Sue Beasley and her husband Norris, of Onancock; and many extended family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Rock Church of the Eastern Shore, 27112 Lankford Highway, Onley, VA, on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Paul Nolz officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
