Mark S. Sulley, 61, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2018 after a long illness at the Siegenthaler Center. He was born on April 27, 1956 in Ft. Monmouth, NJ, a son of Henry and Viola Buckley Sulley.

Following high school graduation, Mark entered the United States Air Force in 1976. He honorably served his country for over 18 years and retired in 1995. During his career in the Air Force, Mark received many medals and served during Operation Desert Shield/Storm.

He enjoyed carpentry, working on old cars, and photography. He is survived by his father, Henry Sulley of Newburgh; two sons, Jason Sulley and Sara Wojdyla of Rome and Richard Sulley of Plattsburgh; his son’s mother, Susan Sulley; two grandsons, Landon and Ethan; his companion, Susan Gydesen; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Les Skirps; two brothers, Joseph and Kevin Sulley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Sulley and a brother, Keith Sulley.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 11:30AM to 1:30PM at the Gulla Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 209 N. Washington St., Rome (336-5700). Graveside services will follow calling hours in Rome Cemetery where Air Force honors will be conferred. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd.
