Martha Louise Neal September 23, 1924 – March 21, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Martha Neal, age 94 of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2019. She was born in Christian County, Kentucky on September 23, 1924 to the late Karl Korb and Virginia Susan (McClure) Ashby. She was an active member of the Auburn Baptist Church, an administrative assistant at Russellville Middle School for over 20 years, and a long time active member of the Auburn American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Neal was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy WAVES where she was stationed in Washington D.C. at the bureau of Printing during the war. Her love of country remained strong throughout her long life and she instilled the importance of service to her family. Her hobbies included following the Dallas Cowboys, UK Basketball and all activities of her family, especially sports.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Guy Neal, her son Alan Neal and three brothers Claude, Karl and Jimmy. She is survived by her: Two daughters Susan Clapp of Prattville, AL and Patti Neal Haeberlin (Glenn) of Eddyville, KY, her sister Betty Ashby Lohr of Boswell, PA, nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Martha Neal will be held Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel with Bro.

Gene Vincent and Bro. David Daugherty officiating and burial to follow in the Auburn Cemetery. Visitation will begin Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel and Monday from 8:00 A.M. until funeral time at 11:00 A.M. The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Auburn Baptist Church, 115 Lincoln St. Auburn, Kentucky 42206.

Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
