He was born in Paducah, Kentucky on May 1, 1958 to the late Silas Staley, Sr. and Mary Ella (Smith) Staley. Ricky was owner of R S P Painting and a member of the Middleton Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by three brothers; Edward Ray Hardy, Buddy Neely and Dennis Staley. Rick is survived by his: Wife of 33 years Marie Staley, son Ricky Staley, Jr. of Auburn, two daughters Angela Townsend and Tammy Collins (Ty) both of Auburn, two brothers Silas Staley, Jr. (Janet) of Auburn, Robert Vance Staley (Linda) of Amarillo, Texas, three sisters Mary Frances LaVoie of Oregon, Shirley Faye (Charlie) of Memphis, Tennessee and Barbara Richey (Louie) of Auburn and five grandchildren. Funeral services for Ricky Staley will be conducted Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Young Funeral Home Auburn Chapel with Bro.
