Martin Joseph Dzierzbicki, age 68, of Johnsburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a short illness. He was born in England on December 2, 1949 to Tadeusz and Joan (Champion) Dzierzbicki. On September 8, 1985, he married the love of his life, Karen Thompson in Johnsburg.

At the age of 13 he achieved his Eagle Scout rank in the Boy Scouting program, putting him in the history book of McHenry County as the youngest Eagle Scout at that time.

For many years, Martin was very active in supporting his son John in the American Bicycle Association BMX sport. Martin enjoyed the outdoors, be it snow skiing, hunting, gardening, cooking, and reading. For many years Marty worked alongside Karen as the proprietor of Minuteman Press of Gurnee.

He will be missed by many patrons. Martin was a very loving husband, dad, and son-in-law, and a friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Karen; his son, John Dzierzbicki; his siblings, Barbara Spyra and Ted (Lauren) Dzierzbicki; and his nieces, Sarah, Nikki, Emmy, and Jenna. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family chose to privately celebrate Martin’s life.
