Obituary for Marvin Jay Whitaker Marvin Jay Whitaker, 78, passed away on November 2, 2018 at The Waters of Muncie. He was born on January 16, 1940 in Mountain Home, Arkansas and resided most of his life in Anderson. He worked as a Self-Employed Contractor for over 40 years He was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed gardening, the St. Louis Cardinals, Indiana University Basketball, fishing in Canada, and spending time with his family and friends. Marvin is survived by his children, Jay (Marianne) Whitaker, Connie (Doug) Weston, Candi (Joe) Barcus; mother-in-law, Sarah Paschal; siblings, Ben Whitaker, Nora Crawford, Bettye Kayzer, Kathy Stone, grandchildren, Matt Henderson, Sean (Carrie) Weston, Hannah (fiancé Taylor Clark) Whitaker, Josh (fiancée Gege Tian) Weston, Mitch (MaShayla) Henderson, Michael (fiancée Emily Shelton) Henderson, Joey (Suzanne) Barcus, Jon Barcus, Ellie Whitaker; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Makenna, Kas, Morrissey, Koen He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Whitaker, mother, Cora Mae Whitaker, father, James Harvey Whitaker, grandson, Benjamin Weston, brothers, Jack, Bob, James Whitaker, and his father-in-law, Joseph Paschal. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson.

Services will be at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jerry Hilligoss officiating. Cremation will take place with private family burial at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association 50 E. 91st Street Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN, 46240.
