Marvin Bewley, age 93, of Hot Springs, passed away on April 15, 2018. He was born, one of twelve children, on January 29, 1925, in Atkins, Arkansas, the son of Robert Lee Bewley and Susie Arminda Davis Bewley. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Emmett Leland Bewley, Roy Arvil Bewley, John Ardis Bewley, Robert Heartsill Bewley, Rolland Lee Bewley, Virgil Dean Bewley, and Rayburn Leo Bewley; and three sisters, Gladys Mae Bewley Blankenship, Nina Lorraine Bewley Tyler, and Ruby Bernell Bewley Case.

He was honored to serve our country in the United States Army for twenty years. He was deployed to the Korean, European, and Vietnam conflicts. He retired with the rank of Army First Sergeant.

Upon retiring, he moved back to the London area and on December 23, 1978 he married Margaret Bernice Hawthorn of Hot Springs. They spent their years residing in both London and Hot Springs. In recent years, they had spent spent their time in Hot Springs, though never neglecting their deep-seated roots in London.

He was privileged to be a 32nd degree Mason. He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Margaret Bernice Hawthorn Bewley of Hot Springs; his brother and sister-in-law, William Glen and Glenda Bewley of London; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family will receive friends at the visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, April 19, 2018 at Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2018, in the Connect Church 1103 E L Street, Russellville, Arkansas 72801. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery, north of Atkins.

Full military honors will be presented by the United States Army Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Greg Bewley, David Case, Brent Bewley, Terry Bewley, Gene Brady, Gary Bewley, and Don Bewley. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
