Obituary for Mary Estelle Scott Mary Estelle Scott, age 88, was born December 13, 1928, in Davie County, daughter of the late Carzell and Vador Wiseman Scott, Sr She graduated from Davie County Training School, and later attended Gray’s Scientific Beauty School. Early in life Mary moved to New York and trained to be a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked at Long Island Nursing Home, from which she retired in 1991.

Mary returned to North Carolina and her hobbies were knitting, being involved with events at Mock Place Apartments where she lived, and also participating in the events at the Davie County Senior Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Scott and Walter Scott, Jr.; one sister, Gladys Scott Edwards. On Sunday, November 19, 2017, she died following a brief illness.

She is survived by five nieces, Yoland Scott-Boone, Vada Scott Harbison, Rita Scott, Kathy Scott and Elaine Edwards; two nephews, Tony Scott and Maxwell Edwards; many cousins and friends.
