Mr. Eugene Gray “Gene” Brewer, 76, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was a native of Davie County, born April 18, 1942, the son of the late Herman and Thelis Allen Brewer. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandra Cranfill Brewer; a step-daughter, Sonya Loy (Bobby) of Mocksville; one sister, Martha Hunt (Henry) of Mocksville; and a step-grandchild, Kelly Price (Harley) of Statesville.

Mr. Brewer was a graduate of Davie County High School with the Class of 1960 and later attended Davidson Community College. He served honorably in the United States Army (1965-1968). He was a machinist by trade and was employed with Pleucer of Statesville for 24 years and Ingersoll-Rand for 6 years.

He was a member of Eaton Baptist Church. There will be a graveside service at 11:30 AM Tuesday, July 17, at Eaton Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor David Galbreath officiating. In recognition of his service to his country, Military Honors will be accorded by the Davidson County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eaton Baptist Church, 430 Eaton Church Road, Mocksville, NC 27028. Arrangements are under the direction of Davie Funeral Service. Online condolences may be posted at www.
