Obituary for Mary F. Schlechtweg Mary F. Schlechtweg, 84 of Rushville, passed away on October 19, 2018 in Rushville. She was born on September 24, 1934 in Rush County to the late Francis and Mabel (Bane) Owens. Mary was a 1953 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School.

She married John O. Schlechtweg on September 25, 1953 and he precedes her in death on May 13, 2018. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her family. Mary was a lifetime member at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by her son, Mike Schlechtweg (Donna Vaughn) of Laurel; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Schlechtweg of Rushville; a brother-in-law, Bill Schlechtweg (wife, Margaret) of Arkansas; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Mary is also preceded in death by her son, Chuck Schlechtweg; daughter, Mary Ann Tillison; and her sister, Patricia Bowling. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10 AM in Moster Mortuary, with Father James Brockmeier presiding.

Friends are welcome to visit the family on Tuesday evening from 4-8PM in the Mortuary. Burial will be held in Hopewell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Miller’s Merry Manor.
