Mrs. Mary Jimmie Carmichael Boone, age 92 of Valdosta, formerly of Rockmart, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019. Mrs. Boone was born May 25, 1926 in Rockmart, daughter of the late Mildred Elizabeth Carmichael. She was a 1944 graduate of Rockmart High School and earned an associate degree from Reinhardt College.

Mrs. Boone was a member of the Belvedere United Methodist Church of Decatur and retired from Oxford Industries of Atlanta after 30 years of service where she enjoyed cooking each employee a birthday cake on their special day. She loved her Snellville neighbors and enjoyed playing bingo. Mrs. Boone was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Joseph Eldred Boone.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Pamela Chapman and her husband Barry of Valdosta; and two grandchildren, Ryan Andrew Chapman of Bozeman, Montana and Casey Leigh Chapman of Valdosta. Funeral graveside and interment services for Mrs. Boone will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Owen (Bud) Davis, Jr. officiating.
