Mrs. Doris Marie Johnson Barron, age 69 of the Yorkville Community passed away Friday, February 8, 2019. Mrs. Barron was born June 2, 1949 in Polk County, daughter of the late Joe Brown Johnson and the late Floy T. Brown Johnson. She was a former seamstress having worked at Rockmart Manufacturing and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Barron enjoyed fishing and gardening and loved her coffee; but her greatest love was her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Simmons; and a brother, Willis Johnson. Survivors include her husband, William Thomas “Tommy” Barron of Rockmart to whom she was married January 21, 1984; three daughters, Julie Ann Jones and Tammie Brown and her husband Dale both of Rockmart and Tiffany Dutton and her husband Timmy of Bremen; son, Mark Barron and his wife Amy of Rockmart; sister, Virginia Mewburn of Rockmart; brother, Floyd Thomas Johnson of New Georgia; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barron will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Timmy Dutton and Rev. Tyler Barron officiating.

Interment services will follow in the family lot of the Yorkville Baptist Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Kyle Jones, Dakota Jones, Corey Jones, Daniel Priest, Wesley Jones and Brad Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mark Barron, Brandon Dutton, Dale Brown, Trent Jones, Levi Barron and Jakob Collins.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday prior to the service from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral services for Mrs. Doris Marie Johnson Barron.
