Obituary for Mary Lou Byrum Clark RICHMOND, Ind. – Mary Lou Byrum Clark, age 86, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully Friday, September 21, 2018, at Reid Health. Born December 5, 1931, in Richmond, Indiana, to Bernard William Sr. and Violet May Ryan Byrum, Mary was a life-long resident of Richmond.

She graduated from Richmond High School in 1950, where she was the accompanist for graduation and other special events. Mary studied classical piano at University of Cincinnati College – Conservatory of Music. She worked at and met her future husband, Murlin, at International Harvester.

Mary served as the organist and choir director at the former Second Presbyterian Church for many years and assisted at numerous other churches. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mary loved working in her flower garden and spending time with her family.

She was especially proud of her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Murlin Lee Clark; daughter, Dr. Cathy (John) Clark Alexander of Belvidere, Illinois; grandsons, Aidan and Nathan Alexander of Belvidere; sister, Marcia Annette Byrum Walters of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Joyce Byrum of Perrysburg, Ohio; brother-in-law, Boyd Clark of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Barbara Hood and Mona Study; and brother, Bernard Byrum Jr. Visitation for Mary Lou Clark will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.

Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor David A. Layman and Pastor Deb Mitchell officiating. Entombment will be in the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to: First Presbyterian Church, 100 North 10th Street, Richmond, IN 47374.
