Obituary for Elmer L. “Scooter” Brown II RICHMOND, Ind. – Elmer L. “Scooter” Brown II, age 72, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at his home surrounded by family and friends after a long illness. Born June 20, 1946, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Elmer Sr. and Jeanette Crouse Brown, Scooter lived in this community most of his life.

He was a 1964 graduate of Richmond High School. Scooter grew up with a love for nature, history, photography, and especially motorcycles. He and his soon to be wife, Doris, went on dates on his motorcycle, and Scooter’s children grew up riding with their dad on his bike.

He touched lives while riding throughout the countryside, making friends wherever he could. Scooter retired from Nixon Tool Co., Inc. in 2003. He was a member of ABATE of Indiana for over 20 years, serving as a regional leader for five years.

Scooter was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Greenville, Ohio, and Howard Thomas Post #315 in Richmond. Survivors include his children, Theresa “Tab” (William) Benedict of Norfolk, Virginia, and Michelle Stiffler and Tammy (Chris) Ramsey, both of Richmond; stepchildren, that he considered as his own kids, Dana (Nestor) Narcelles, Greg (Dottie) Alcorn, and Troy Alcorn; grandchildren, Danielle Mondrik, Lucas Benedict, Hannah Stiffler, and Ryan and Addrianna Ramsey; step-grandchildren, Aubree Jude, Adam and Sidney Narcelles, and Matthew Alcorn; great-grandchild, William Parker; step-great-grandchildren, Ava, Xander, Alice, and Nico Jude; sister, Cora “Corkey” Sue Poynter of Richmond; and ex-wife, Doris Brown. He was preceded in death by his son, John Brown; grandson, Dale Stiffler; parents; brothers, Michael and Steve Brown; and half-sister, Sue Bockhofer.

There will be no public services for Elmer L. “Scooter” Brown II, per his wishes. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: ABATE of Indiana, P.O.
