Obituary for John Scott Maddox RICHMOND, Ind. – John Scott Maddox, age 67, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Golden Living Center-Golden Rule. Born April 9, 1951, in Bedford, Indiana, to Robert and Nadah Jeffries Maddox, John lived in this community for the past 17 years.

He retired from Kentucky Retirement Systems in Louisville, Kentucky, where he served as an EMT. John was a trivia expert. He loved music, movies, and computer games.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Mary Joyce Stringfield Maddox; daughter, Helen Marie Maddox of Louisville; son, Richard Scott Maddox of Louisville; stepdaughter, Michelle (Phillip) Taylor of Richmond; stepson, Timothy Allen (Sheley) Webb Jr. of Economy, Indiana; grandchildren, Iry and Maya Lyons and Lilah Rose Maddox, all of Louisville, Janae (Weston) Wernsman and Brenton Taylor, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jericka Truitt of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Sydney Webb of Richmond; great-granddaughters, Gwendolyn Truitt of Grand Rapids and Rockie Wernsman of Indianapolis; aunt, Joan Jeffries of Indianapolis; and special cat, Skitter. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Maddox and mother and stepfather, Nadah and Richard Jacobs. Memorial visitation for John Scott Maddox will be from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.

Memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Chaplain Tobby Smith officiating.
