Mary T. Quinlivan (Sissy Foley) passed away peacefully at Mercy House on April 20, 2018 with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents Jeremiah and Mae Foley; brothers Don and Jim Foley; daughters-in-law Mary Sullivan Quinlivan and Linda Knapik Quinlivan and deceased members of the Foley and Quinlivan families and dear friends. She will always be missed and forever loved by her devoted husband Bob of 69 years; children Peggy and Terry Hanifin, Bobby and Chris Quinlivan, Marty and Susie Lawson, Kevin Quinlivan and Jimmy Quinlivan.

Her grandchildren whom treasured their NeNe and Grandma Q-Pon, Rob and Dana Quinlivan, Erin and Scott Murdoch, Kristin and Gary Hart, Grant Lawson, Pebs Lawson, Matt Minichelli, Collin Quinlivan; and great grandchildren Adelyn and Julia Quinlivan, Connor and Quinn Murdoch, Gary, Gabe and Keara Hart. Sisters-in-law Kathleen Foley and Eileen Brutvan; cherished nieces, nephews and Club – Mary Ann Giblin, Peggy Lane and Theresa Whelan. Mary was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Church.

She enjoyed working in the food pantry, clothing bank, funeral lunches and in our Blessed Mother’s garden. Her church community brought her great joy. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a good friend to many and she held them close to her heart. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff and volunteers at Mercy House, Lourdes Hospice, Good Shepherd Nursing Home and Mary’s Home Caregivers Susie, Mary, Chris, Jody, Reva, Jacki and Patty. Your compassion and professional care gave Mary happiness and peace.

Our family is also thankful for the many acts of kindness from St. Paul’s Pastoral Ministry, family, friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends at St. Paul’s Church, Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY on Monday April 23rd from 8:45am until 10:45am and a Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 North McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760 or St. Paul’s Food Pantry, 15 Doubleday Street, Binghamton, NY 13901. Kind and gentle Mary found the best in everyone. There is laughter and singing in heaven- Sis is Home.
