Obituary for Mary Virginia Bartle Mary Virginia Bartle 98, of Chambersburg passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Menno Haven. She was born September 30, 1919 in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Knoll) Finafrock. Virginia was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, the Charles Nitterhouse Post #1599 V.F.W., and N.A.R.F.E. as well as a member of the St. Thomas Detrich – Brechbill American Legion Post # 612, Chambersburg American Legion Burt J. Asper Post #46 and AARP.

She worked as a seamstress for Stanley Company for many years and volunteered at both the Chambersburg Hospital and Menno Village. She loved to travel and visit friends. Surviving are her daughter, Karen L. Aikman (Jerry) and several nieces and nephews.

The last of her family, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bartle, whom she married on May 14, 1949, a son, Alan Bartle and seven siblings: Irma Reeder, Knoll Finafrock, Isabelle Dice, Bill Finafrock, Clarence Finafrock, Garnet Finafrock and Reida Aldridge. The funeral service will be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the William F. Sellers Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Leeper officiating.

There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service and burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church, 3001 Warm Springs Rd. , Chambersburg, PA 17202.
