Obituary of Mary Muscatello Brunswick – Mary L. Muscatello, 95, a longtime resident of Brunswick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Teresian House Nursing Home following a courageous ten-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born August 15, 1923, Mary was the daughter of the late Rocco and Luigina Daniele and grew up in the Mt. Ida section of Troy, NY.

In October 1947 she married Harry Muscatello, the love of her life to whom she was happily married for 32 years before his passing in 1979. Mary was employed by Cluett and Peabody prior to starting her family. Mary had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and always trusted in His sovereignty over her life.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to serving her family. Nothing gave her more pleasure than cooking for and gathering her family and friends to share a meal together. Sunday dinner at Mary’s was a tradition which the whole family enjoyed and looked forward to.

Not allowing distance to get between her and her grandchildren, she became a frequent flier traveling to see her grandchildren grow up out of state, attending school activities and sporting events. Mary is survived by her loving children, Daniel (Kim) Muscatello of Hopkinton, MA, Robert Muscatello of Cohoes and Michele (Bill) Jordan of St. Johns, FL. In addition, she is also survived by five grandchildren, Steven (Alison), David (Hillary) and Daniel (Kristen) Muscatello, Kyle and Will Jordan.

She was the great grandmother of Audrey, Kaylee, Caroline, Madison and Harrison (Harry) Muscatello. She is also survived by her sister Rose Vumbaco; sisters-in-law Marie Looby Daniele, Josephine (Juice) Case, Rosemary (Bithie) Muscatello, Virginia (Ginny) Fieden; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was pre-deceased by her siblings Kathryn Gallo, Peter and John Daniele.

The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Mary at the Teresian House, especially the Fifth floor A wing staff for the loving care extended to our mom during her final years. Many members of the staff treated Mary as if she were their own mother and that kindness will never be forgotten. Funeral 11:30am Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends may call at the Church from 9:30 to 11:30 prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you acknowledge the need for quality care for the elderly by making a contribution in Mary’s memory to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave.

Extension, Albany, NY.
