Obituary for Maryon Joyce (Park) Braden Maryon “Joyce” (Park) Braden Age 92, of Bellbrook, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Bethany Village in Centerville, OH. Joyce was born November 29, 1925 in Scribner, Nebraska to Tillie Mary (Riha) Park and Rex Park. Joyce grew up in the dust bowl of Nebraska during the Great Depression.

As the eldest of three daughters, she learned responsibility early by helping run her family’s store after school and caring for her sisters. She met the love of her life at the age of 19, while working for the U.S. Army Air Forces at Lowry Field in Denver, Colorado. She and Ralph were married six weeks after they met as he was preparing to be shipped overseas during WWII.

Their great love affair continued for 64 years until Ralph’s death in 2009. Joyce’s passions were her pride and devotion to Ralph and their daughters, sewing, gardening, and reading, particularly history. She loved exploring the country in their travel trailer for 50 years.

Love of family and kindness to others was her legacy for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in- law, Robert G. Bott, and grandson, Grant Braden Gardner. Joyce is survived by her loving sisters, Mary Lu Bott & Marvel (Scott) Singleton; adored daughters, Laurie (Braden) Klopfer & her husband Mike of Bellbrook, and Marily (Braden) Gardner & her husband Larry of Delafield, Wisconsin; 3 grandchildren: David Klopfer & his wife Jennifer, Elizabeth (Klopfer) Weddle & her husband Nathan, and Warren Gardner & his fiancée Lauren Mistelske; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Private services are in the care of Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home, Bellbrook. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Joyce Braden Memorial Fund to show their appreciation to the staff at Bethany Village and Hospice for their loving care (c/o Fifth Third Bank, 6301 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, OH 45459).
