Obituary for Patricia Ann (Hutton) Ewing Thornton Thornton, Patricia Ann (Hutton) Ewing, age 89, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, June 3rd, 2018. She was born October 15th, 1928 in Dayton to Norma (Sebring) Hutton and Virgil Hutton. Pat formerly worked at DeClark’s.
She was the first Clerk for the City of Centerville. Pat also formerly owned and operated the Needle Nook. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husbands, Richard Ewing and James Thornton.
Pat is survived by her two sons, Timothy Ewing (Shawnee) of Kettering, and Jon Ewing (Chris) of Bellbrook; three grandsons, Jason, Jordan, and Joel Ewing; and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Kate. Pat was very active throughout her life. She was Past President of Ohio Tri-T, Past President of Country Corner Garden Club, former member of the OES, former PTA President, former poll worker for her local precinct, and the former Chairperson of the Fairmont Class Reunion.
Pat loved to knit, needle point, cross-stitch and crochet, a gift her mother taught her when she was a young girl. She also loved gardening and taking care of her dogs and cats. She will be remembered for her strong will, independence, and proper disposition.
You are invited to a visitation to celebrate her life on Saturday, June 9th from 10-11am at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home, 92 West Franklin St Bellbrook. Life celebration services will immediately follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave.
