Matilde Vargas ( nee Paez ), 84 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at her residence with her family by her side. Matilde was born in La Vega, Dominican Republic, and came to Perth Amboy many years ago. She was employed by various factories throughout the Middle County area.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She is preceeded in death by her devoted husband Candido Vargas, who passed away in March of 2018; loving daughter of Matia Paez and Angelica ( nee Minalla ).

She is survived by beloved children Cristina F. Placendia, Ramon, Andres, Emengilda, Juana, Estebania, Juan, Antonia, Nicolas, Maria, Domingo and Hilda Vargas; adored grandmother of 46 and great ~ grandmother of 59; cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews and cousins. We begin to leave on Monday, December 31, 2018 at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery.

Visiting is on Sunday from 1 ~ 5 pm.
