Obituary for Matthew Haskin Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his home. Age 99 years. Son of the late Matthew and Theresa (Schneller) Haskin, Matthew was born April 14, 1919 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Lorraine Friske on September 10, 1946. They lived in Hudson, Florida for 25 years returning to Farwell, Michigan in 2004 to live with his daughter.

Lorraine predeceased him August 29, 2009. Matthew was employed at the Saginaw Police Department, A.T. Farrell and employed for 30 years at Helfrecht Machine Co. retiring in 1981. He was a member of Saginaw Chapter of Purchasing Managers.

Matthew enjoyed bowling, square dancing and golfing. Surviving to cherish his memory are one son and one daughter, Ronald (Carole) Haskin, Saginaw; Sally Beaudin, Farwell; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Catherine Stanley, Mary Ann Meyer; many nieces and nephews. Matthew was preceded in death by his two brothers, Anthony and Joseph Haskin.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Rd. , Saginaw. Entombment will take place in St. Andrew Mausoleum with Military Services conducted by V.F.W. Post #1859.

Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd, (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
