Dr. Max Sidney Wood, 63, passed away on April 27, 2018 in Lehi, Utah. Max was born on February 7, 1955 in Payson, Utah, to Charles and Bertha Wood. Max grew up in Payson, where he worked hard in school and at his job.

From a very young age, Max worked on farms. There he learned how to work hard, and take pride in the work that he did. In school, he learned the value of education, and worked hard to get good grades so he could get a scholarship to go to college.

Before college, Max served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fukuoka, Japan, where he learned to love the gospel and the people of Japan. After his mission, Max met his sweetheart of 40 years, Jackie, while they were attending BYU. They were married on April 21, 1978 in the Los Angeles temple for time and all eternity.

This was the beginning of a great adventure for them. In 1985 Max graduated from Emery University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned his degree in family dentistry. He practiced dentistry in Provo, Utah for over thirty years and was loved by many of his patients.

Max loved sports. He played football in high school, ran 3 marathons, and coached countless sports teams for his children. Max loved to watch all sports on T.V., and to collect sports memorabilia.

He enjoyed reading books and watching movies, especially anything in the western genre. He loved to laugh and find joy in life. He loved most of all spending time with his family.

Max and Jackie have 10 children, 7 children-in-law and 21 grandchildren. Max’s world revolved around his family. He loved them all deeply, and made sure that they knew of his love every day.

He wanted to make sure that everyone around him knew they were loved and accepted no matter what. He taught his children to love, and to share that love with others. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
