Melvin Andrew Witcher July 26, 1944 – May 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Melvin Andrew Witcher, 74, of 897 Sportsman Road, Dry Fork, VA, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond, VA. Born July 26, 1944 in Danville, VA, he was the son of the late Melvin D. Witcher and Nonie Graveley Witcher. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include one daughter, Awanata Barnes (Willie) of Glen Allen, VA; one son, Deryl Witcher (Rita) of Willow Grove, PA; five sisters, Viola L. Jefferson of August, GA, Eva L. Barksdale (Willie), Valerie Witcher, Vanessa Adams and Teressa Smith all of Danville, VA; three brothers, Larry D. Witcher (Jackie) of Dry Fork, VA, James D. Witcher of Dallas, TX and Recus D. Carter of Glen Allen, VA and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the residence of his brother, Larry Witcher (Jackie), 897 Sportsman Road, Dry Fork, VA Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1PM from Tarpley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Divens, Jr., Eulogist.

Interment with Military Honors by American Legion Post 29 will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 4-7 PM with the family being present from 5:30-7 PM at Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home. Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home is assisting the Witcher family.
