Melvin’s Obituary Melvin Brantley Walker Jr. (AKA- Snitchie), 58, of Lawton, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019. The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

Interment with full military honors will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls. Melvin was born to Mrs. Jimmie Williams and Melvin Walker Sr. on September 27, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. Melvin graduated from George Henry Corliss High School, where he met his high school sweetheart Cora.

Upon completing high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force obtaining the rank of Master Sgt Walker, retiring after 24 years, 1 month and 17 days. He gathered up his family on many tours to Arizona, Korea, Illinois, Texas, California, Germany and England. During his time in the military, he accomplished a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education, from Wayland Baptist University.

His career started out as a security police officer and retired as the superintendent of school house 361st Squadron at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. Melvin gave his life to Christ at a young age and restored his faith in Christ as an adult. He joined Providence Baptist Church in Burkburnett, Texas in 2009 where he sang in the church choir and was a member of the Brotherhood.

Melvin leaves to cherish his memory, Wife , Cora Walker of 40 years; Daughter, Tyish (Charles) Goodlow of Wichita Falls, Texas; Son, Emmanuel Turner Walker of Dallas, Texas; Daughter, Darianna Walker of Wichita Falls, Texas; Mother, Mrs. Jimmie Williams of Dallas, Texas; Brother, Donald (Myra) of Chicago, Illinois; Brother, Minister Clarence Williams (British) of Chicago, Illinois; Brother, Joseph Williams of South Africa; and Brother, Aaron Williams (Sahara) of Atlanta, Georgia; 6 grandchildren; 12 nieces; 7 nephews; 5 sister-in-laws; 5 brother-in-laws; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded him in death was Sister, Sherry Walker-Anderson; Father, Melvin Walker Sr.; and Father, Clarence Williams Sr. A Repass will be held after the cemetery at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2506 Sheppard Access Rd Wichita Falls, Texas 76306.
