Lee, age 75, of Osceola, MO, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at Research Hospital in Kansas City, MO. He was born on September 15, 1943, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Jack and Pearl Lowe Lee. He made his home in Independence, MO and in 1961 he was united in marriage to Deloris Owens.

Unto this union, two children were born, Debbie and Melvin Jr They also adopted two nieces, Dana Ann and Donna Roxane Lee. Melvin was a welder and learned his trade at Black, Sivalls and Bryson.

In 1971, he began working for General Motors and retired in 1991 as a journeyman welder. In 1998, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Self. They made their home in Osceola, MO.

She survives of Osceola. In his younger days, Melvin enjoyed going to rodeos. He loved country music, playing his guitar and dancing.

He also liked fishing and hunting in the Ozarks. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Surviving are four children, Debbie Phillips and Dana Lee, both of Climax Springs, MO, Donna Lee of Camdenton and Melvin Jr. Lee of Osceola, MO, four step-children, Mickey Self, Jason Self, DeLeena Self and Tabitha Fowler and the granddaughter he helped raise, Sissy, along with 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 25, 2019, at Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in the Wright Creek Cemetery near Lowry City, MO. Arrangements by Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.
