Michael’s Obituary Michael Allen Boyer, 49, of Berryville, Virginia, met his loving Savior, Jesus face to face Monday, January 21, 2019 at his home after bravely fighting an illness for over eight years. Mike was born March 30, 1969 at Lockbourne Air Force Base, Ohio, son of Terry Boyer and Frieda Bohm Boyer. As a Sargent in the U. S. Air Force he served as a Korean Linguist from 1988-1995.

He later became a dedicated teacher and taught the students he loved both in Newport News Public Schools and at Floris Elementary School in Fairfax County, Virginia. He married his dreamgirl, Saundra Boyer on November 10, 2006 in Newport News, Virginia, who misses him terribly. Together, Saundra and Mike enjoyed serving their Lord Jesus through mission trips and by traveling overseas to see all the beauty of God’s creation.

Mike and Saundra loved running together and Mike completed several Marine Corps marathons, and countless other races, but always took the time to slow his pace and finish with his dreamgirl. His kindness, love and companionship will not be forgotten. Mike was a loving and compassionate husband and father to wife, Saundra, and children, Luke Boyer, Alec Boyer, Victoria Rehder, Andrew Rehder and Nicholas Rehder.

His parents and brother, Robert Boyer, all preceded him in death. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P. M. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Cornerstone Chapel, Leesburg, VA with Pastor Larry Santmyer officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.

Pallbearers will be Luke Boyer, Alec Boyer, Andrew Rehder, Nicholas Rehder, Rod Schulz and Bob Hinson. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. To help with expenses, a GoFundMe account has been made.
