Fritzie Gay Gantz Conley Carper, January 06, 1926 — February 26, 2019

Fritzie’s Obituary Fritzie Gay Gantz Conley Carper, 93, of White Post, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019, peacefully at her home. Fritzie was born January 6, 1926 in Grenoble, France, the daughter of the late Frank “Fritz” Gay Gantz Conley and Eleanor Brockenbrough Meade Conley. She graduated from Boyce High School, salutatorian, attended Mary Washington College, and graduated from Miss Conley’s School of Business in Pittsburgh, PA.

She was a private secretary for Montana Hall Farm and Rock Hill Farm for many decades. Fritzie was an extrovert who enjoyed people and a good conversation! She was a lifetime member of her family church, Meade Memorial Episcopal Church, White Post, Virginia.

Surviving is her daughter, Martha Hall Carper and her husband, Paul Wilson; two granddaughters, Meryn Laurel Carper Wilson-Long and her husband, Brandon, and Alden Ashley Carper Wilson; and a great-granddaughter, Adelyn Grayce Long, all of Weyers Cave, VA. She was “Aunt Fritzie” to her two nephews, Johnny Hardesty and his wife, Irene, and David Hardesty and his wife, Debbie; and the Hardesty children and grandchildren. Her sister, Carter Meade Conley Hardesty, her brother-in-law, Jack Hardesty, and Martha’s father, Billy Carper, preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held later in the spring at Meade Memorial Episcopal Church in White Post, Virginia. Memorial contributions may be made to Meade Memorial Episcopal Church, memo: Cemetery Fund, P O Box 159, White Post, VA 22663 and flowers may be given as bulbs to beautify Meade Memorial’s church yard .
