Nancy Castetter Johnson, 69, of North Vernon, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at her residence. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev.

Dale Boyd will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Burial will be Otter Creek Cemetery.

Born April 16, 1949, in Jennings County, Nancy was the daughter of Henry and Lois Rice Castetter. She married David Wayne Johnson on October 28, 1967. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2012.

She graduated from North Vernon High School in 1967 and then worked at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center for 31 years. She was a member of Tea Creek Baptist Church, life member of the VFW Auxiliary, and former member of Moose and Amvets. Nancy enjoyed reading, watching TV and traveling.

Nancy is survived by a son, Dan (Amanda) Johnson of Butlerville; brother, Robert Castetter of Butlerville; sister, Margaret (Larry) Wilkerson of North Vernon; and brothers, Paul (Sherry) Castetter of Jeffersonville and John (Tonja) Castetter of Butlerville. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue.
