Nancy Elaine Marie Smetanka October 25, 1953-June 4, 2018 Mishawaka-Nancy Elaine Marie Smetanka departed to Heaven on June 4, surrounded by her loving family and closest friends. Nancy is survived by her husband of 43 years Mike Sr.; her children, Mike Jr. (Amy) Smetanka, Nicole Smetanka and Heather (Bruce) Berta. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kaylee, Jaime, Taylor (Travis), Briana, Felicia, Cameron, Cody, Abbie, Lanie and great grandchildren, Mia and Sadie.

Nancy was born on October 25, 1953 to Trudy Pedersen. She married her sweetheart in Long Beach, CA on May 17, 1975 and moved to Mishawaka, IN in 1984 where she and Mike built their life and raised their family. Nancy worked for many years at The Family Children Center and Pirates Cove.

Nancy was best known as a “mom to all”, opening her home to many children over the course of her life. She loved to sing, especially Patsy Cline songs. Nancy was an excellent cook, had a generous heart, and will be missed greatly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 9 from 3 to 6 p.m., please email hberta04@gmail.com for details. “Your presence we will miss. Your memory we will treasure.

We will be loving you always, and forgetting you never”.
