Nancy J. O’Brien, of the Town of Newburgh entered into rest on Monday, February 26, 2018. She was 80. The daughter of the late Edward and Anne B. (Sickles) Cutone, Nancy was born October 27, 1937 in Boston, MA.

At age twelve, Nancy met the love of her life, Ken whom she married in October of 1958. Ken’s job took them away from Massachusetts to New Jersey and then their home at 4 Spur Terrace in Meadow Hill of Newburgh where they raised their sons. Although they had to relocate, they stayed close to their family members in Massachusetts often traveling “home” to visit or talk on the phone.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nancy’s family was a constant of joy to her. She would often tell friends of the parties and other events a growing family generates. She and Ken happily attended the many recitals, science fairs, concerts and graduations.

Nancy was a retired Transportation Coordinator for Sylcox and the Elant Nursing Home in Newburgh. She was also a member of the bible study at New Freedom Church. Survivors include two sons: Shawn O’Brien and his wife, Dolores of Montgomery and Doug O’Brien and his wife, Sara of Peekskill; four grandchildren: Dr. Kathryn A. Rodriquez, Shawn M. O’Brien, Aubrey C. O’Brien, Chase R. O’Brien; two great grandchildren; Aaliyah and Yovany.

She also has several nieces and nephews living throughout the US. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth N. O’Brien in 2013 and a son, Kenneth E. O’Brien. Memorial visitation will take place Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 North Plank Road (Rt.

32), Newburgh, NY. A Memorial Service will commence at 4 pm at the funeral home with The Rev. Bruce Baker will officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Nancy’s memory to Juvenile Diabetes, www. jdrf.
