MADISON Nelda I. Rakow Soehnlein, age 83, died peacefully at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg on April 21, 2018. She was born on August 1, 1934, the daughter of Milo and Mary (McBoyle) Brennum. Nelda graduated from high school in Cobb, WI in 1952.

Nelda worked in housekeeping and did factory work, working for Tuscarora and most recently Muhl up until her retirement in 2004. Nelda enjoyed garage sale-ing and spending time with her grandchildren. When she was healthy enough to do so, she loved to dance.

Nelda is survived by her children, Terry (Sue) Rakow, Marian, OH, John Rakow (Kathy Kopp), Madison, Patricia (Steve) Bronson, Madison; grandchildren, Melissa (Chad) Hauge, Ted Rakow, Joshua (Kari) Rakow, Trevor Rakow; and 7 great-grandchildren; special friend and companion, Delbert Imberg; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harold Rakow and Warren Soehnlein; 7 siblings, Lester, Arthur, Vilas, Donna, Clarice, Milan, and Delores. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agrace HospiceCare.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Agrace HospiceCare for their exceptional care of Nelda. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, April 27, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2126 N. Sherman Ave, Madison, with Rev. Gerry Kuhnke presiding.
