Nicholas “Nick” J. LaHaie, age 66, of Cheboygan passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at his home. He was born July 6, 1952 in Cheboygan, the son of Roland and Gladys (Kitchen) LaHaie. On August 3, 1973 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Nick married Sherry Harrington.

Nick had worked for Henderson Construction through the Laborer’s Local #1092. He was an avid birder and enjoyed feeding the animals on his property. He was a member of the Cheboygan Moose Lodge and the Cheboygan Eagles.

Survivors include his wife Sherry of Cheboygan, three children, Brian LaHaie of Grand Rapids, Melissa LaHaie of Muskegon and Matt (Ashley) LaHaie of North Carolina, three sisters, Ann LaHaie of Detroit, Mary Jo Powell of Lansing and Margaret “Peg” Stephens of Grand Rapids, two brothers, Ron LaHaie of Cheboygan and Fred (Joanne) LaHaie of Clio and four grandchildren, Hunter, Jarrid, Jade and Madeline LaHaie. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Roland, Jr., Jerry, Cathleen, Elaine and John. No services are planned at this time.

Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
