Mrs. Nora Francis Parker, 83, beloved wife of James Willard Parker and a resident of Melfa, VA, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at her residence. Born December 1, 1934 in Northampton County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Myrtle Smith Hayward. Nora was a longtime CNA, having worked at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore and later retired from Accomack County Nursing Home.

She was a member of Faith Assembly of God, in Lee Mont, VA, adored her cat, and loved to knit and sew, often making clothes for her family and many other items. Nora was cherished by her loved ones and will be greatly missed. In addition to her husband of nearly 65 years, she is survived by four sons, Jerry W. Parker of Tasley, VA, Brian Parker and wife Patty of Bloxom, Darrell Parker and wife Vickie of Onancock, and Randy Parker and Brenda of Parksley; ten grandchildren, Mark, Samantha Jo, Dillon, Olivia, Cassie, Briar, Brandy, Shane, Josh, and Fallon; eight great-grandchildren; cousin, Jean Mears, who was like a sister; and many nieces and nephews.

Other than her mother, she was predeceased by her infant son, James Gregory Parker. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend Mark Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.

There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Faith Assembly of God, 22593 Lee Mont Road, Parksley, VA 23421. Memory tributes may be shared with the family at www.
