Opal’s Obituary Chilhowie, VA Opal Imogene Moore Straley, age 97 passed away Friday March 22, 2019 at the Valley Health Care Center. She was born in Rich Valley to the late Steve Moore and Pearl Wilson Moore Blevins and spent most of her life in the New River Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Goodlow Straley; her son George Edward Straley; her daughter Shelby Jean Straley.

She was of the Methodist faith and loved to go out and eat. Survivors include her grandchildren Charles Edward Straley and wife Donna of Dublin, Joseph Edward Straley and wife Angela of Chilhowie, Anthony Henley of Marion; daughter in law Betty Straley of Saltville; great grandchildren Opal Lynn Straley, Charles Thurlow Straley, Angel Trump Fuller; step grandchildren Michelle, John, Lee, Brandi, Tiffany, Amber, Sierra, Troy; nephews Ronnie Oakes, Richard Oakes. Funeral services will be held at at 1PM Tuesday March 26, 2019 at the Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg, VA with Reverend Brian Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the Bradley’s Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www. bradleysfh.com.
