Obituary of Sylvia Jeanette Burton ATKINS, Va. SYLVIA JEANETTE BURTON, 79 passed away surrounded by family in her home on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. She was born on December 23, 1939 in Atkins, Va.

to the late Frank Ernest and Kathleen Anna Welch Overbay. Prior to her retirement, Sylvia was employed with the Free Lance-Star Newspaper based in Fredericksburg, Va. From paper delivery to being promoted to route supervisor, she faithfully maintained that her clientele received their newspaper edition every day for 16 years.

She was not a stranger to hard work; however, she will be remembered most as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She will be missed! In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Allen Burton.

Remaining to cherish her memory includes her husband of 60 years, William Delbert Burton, Sr.; sons, William Delbert Burton, Jr., Michael Wayne Burton (Roxanne), all of Atkins, Va. , Terrance Eugene Burton (Debbie), of Caroline County, Va. , and Kenneth Lee Burton (Sherry), of Spotsylvania County, Va.

; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Moser (Ray), of Aberdeen, MD; brother, Donald Overbay, of Bel Air, MD, and a host of nieces and nephews.
