Forrest’s Obituary Jack (Forrest French) King, the fifth son of the late Nannie and Pierce King, was born on November 8, 1934, in Marion, Va. On the morning of May 22, 2019, he was at home in Marion when God called him to his heavenly home at the age of 84. His passing has left a void in so many hearts that now will be filled with memories of his laughter, his humble spirit, and love for his extended family, his many friends, and especially his three dogs.

Six brothers and two sisters as well as his good friend, Jay Hubble, preceded Jack in death. Survivors are his sister, Carolyn Wymer and husband Charles, Richlands, Va. Rodney King, Seven Mile Ford, Va.

, and Donald King and wife, Ruby, Olivehurst, California. Also, two sisters-in-law, Anne King, Chilhowie, Va. , and Shelby King, Draper, Va.

Many nieces and nephews also survive. Although Jack never married and had no children of his own, he had a host of relatives and friends who became his family. Those left to cherish his memory are several wonderful people who helped Jack immensely in his later years, especially neighbors, Maryanne Hubble, and Jack’s niece, Tiffany King Hash; also, Danny and Shelby Hollifield, and Vivian Hayes, as well as several others from Riverside Baptist Church.

Services will be held at Bradley’s Funeral Home in Marion on Friday, May 24, with visitation at beginning at 6 p.m., and services following at 7 p.m. led by Pastor Billy Frazier. Burial will be at Round Hill Cemetery on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Highlands Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. “We little knew that morning that God would call your name.

In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same”.
