Mr. Owen Gilbert, age 83, of Lone Star, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. Owen was born in Delhi, Louisiana on January 22, 1935 to the late Louie Gilbert and Eunice (Owens) Gilbert. Owen joined the U.S. Navy at age 17, serving honorably during the Korean War.

He owned and operated his own heavy equipment, working in the oil field industry for 48 years.
