Pamela A. Gilmer age 61 of Ashland, passed away Monday June 11, 2018. Born in Buffalo, New York on October 17, 1956 the daughter of Henry and Emily (Mucha) Zielinski. She had been an Ashland resident for the past 30 years.

Pam’s life was guided by kindness and compassion. Her greatest joy was caring for her children and grandchildren. She had a gift of cooking and showing hospitality to others.

She loved animals and was employed for many years at the Country Roads Veterinary Clinic and she was a devoted member of the Park Street Brethren Church. On July 10, 1982 Pam was married to John Gilmer who survives. In addition to her husband John, Pam is survived by two daughters and two sons, Shannon (Kyle) Harmon of Columbus, Amanda (Neil) Elkins of Ashland, Ryan (Tessa)Gilmer of Ashland and Daniel Gilmer of Ashland.

She is also survived by five grandchildren; her mother Emily Zielinski of Buffalo New York; one sister Linda (Patrick) Donlon of Buffalo New York and brother Tim Zielinski of Buffalo New York. She is preceded in death by her father Henry Zielinski and nephew, Chris Donlon. Funeral services will be held at the Park Street Brethren Church on Friday June 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nate Bebout officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday June 14, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at the Heyl Funeral Home. The family would like to thank their friends and loved ones for the many prayers and well wishes that were received during Pam’s illness.

They would also like to thank the staff of University Hospitals both Ashland and Cleveland and the staff of Hospice of North Central Ohio and most of all our Lord Jesus who has provided strength for this journey and hope for a reunion with Pam someday in Heaven.
