Paul’s Obituary Paul Compton Artman, Sr., 92, of Indianola, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola. Paul was born November 13, 1926 to Paul and Margaret Lucille Johnston Artman in West Point, Mississippi. He married the love of his life, Carol Louise Weaver on May 9, 1950, and together they made their home in Indianola for over 65 years.

Paul owned and operated Greenville Broadcasting after serving in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Paul was a wonderful kind man who was hardworking and enjoyed yardwork.

He was member of First Presbyterian Church in Indianola. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson, Johnathan Artman. Paul is survived by his wife, Carol Artman of Indianola; one son, Paul Compton Artman, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Seacrest, Florida; three grandchildren, Paul Compton Artman, III, Catherine Clare Hill, Margaret Ellen “Maggie” Matthews; four great-grandchildren, Jon Walker Hill, Kennedy Carol Hill, Hollis Catherine Hill, and Deaton Ty Matthews.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Indianola City Cemetery in Indianola. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.
